Industrial Mixer Shielding

The Israeli Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene along with the Ministry Of Labor and Social Affairs have released since 2003 guidelines on the subject of "Safety And Hygiene In Kitchens" Tav-124.

The aforementioned guideline was intended for the location and identification of risks in every area in which are provided food services, starting with the industrial kitchen, continuing with catering services and ending with coffee corners. The guideline was meant to encompass the central aspects in the area of safety and hygienic risks in this field. It does not replace laws and official regulations.

In the guideline under discussion on page 6, in the table dealing with facilities and machinery is stated "The safety injunction at the workplace does not distinguish between kitchen machinery and other machines. Therefore these machines fall under Chapter 3, Article 1 Sections 37-44 and Article 2, Section 45. Following are the guidelines concerning mixers and grinders in the kitchen: "There are to be installed automatic switches for lids/covers allowing automatic activation of the machinery only when the lids/covers are closed.

Our company has developed a shielding system for 20 and 60/80 liter food mixers that complies with the safety regulation and has been approved by an appointed safety official.
